‘Mini’-Series – 6 wks

Learn to draft simple patterns in ‘mini’ size and make them up into a sampler for the wall.  Each week we will explore a basic grid and make a set of blocks based on that grid.  You will see how easy it is to create your own patterns!

Charming Tote-1 day

Make a handy tote using 5” Charm squares to create any one of three designs.  The top has a drawstring to keep everything secure.  The Whistle Pig Design pattern is required and will be available at the class ($8.00).

Grandmother’s Garden – 1½ days
A simple nine-patch block and a more difficult star block are combined on point to make this fresh looking quilt that can be made in several sizes.  Starting with three co-ordinating prints in different sizes, adding a plaid or geometric, a dark for accent and a neutral background, learn how to make accurate star blocks.  There will be homework to do between classes.  Quilt will be assembled at second class.

Applique Techniques – 5 wks

You will have fun playing with different ways to appliqué – by hand & machine. Make this lovely fall sampler and we promise you’ll love the result!

Bargello Gone Round – 1 ½ day
Bargello quilts are a treat to the eye.  Have fun putting a spin on an old favorite.  This round quilt will make a stunning wall hanging, table topper or centre medallion for a larger quilt.  Great for all skill levels.

One Block Wonder – 1 day
Using only one fabric, we will be creating the kaleidoscope of your dreams.  This is suitable for all levels and the options are endless.  We will also be adding elements of interest and design in the form of cubes. You’ll be amazed how addictive this quilt is!!

Quilt Labels – 2 classes

 

Learn how to create meaningful labels for your quilts using both hand and computer methods.   What information to include, where to place labels and secret identification will be discussed.  This will be vital if your quilt should be lost and will be of special interest to the generations to come!!

Santa Gift Bag
An adorable Santa Gift Bag ( Quiltmaker pattern) will be ideal reusable ‘wrapping paper’ for that special small item you are giving.  Easily made in an evening, you will want to do more than one!!!
